Hello! I’m Rachael and I am a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience supporting small businesses.

At Simplified Accounting we mainly work with female founders and female-led businesses to help them understand the numbers, so that they can build the businesses and lives that they dream of.

We don’t use jargon, we don’t own a suit, and we think HMRC need a lesson in using plain English. We believe that the numbers can be understood and be accessible to all - Accounting. Simplified.

We’re our clients biggest cheerleaders and will be shaking those pom poms celebrating all their wins!

Our Services

No two clients are ever the same and so no two services are ever the same - but here’s a guide of the different ways we work with our clients. We tailor our service to your needs (which is why there are no “prices from” on our website, it doesn’t work for how we work with you).

We are currently only talking to referrals - so if you have been recommended to talk to us please ask them to send an introduction email to us both and we can then go from there.

Work with us

  • You are happy with the day-to-day bookkeeping and understand what your numbers mean but the mention of HMRC brings out into a cold sweat... This is where we come in. All the compliance (accounts, corporation tax, VAT returns, payroll, director self assessment etc) sits with us and we sit between you and HMRC ensuring it's done right and on time.

  • You are mostly happy with the day-to-day bookkeeping but want that bit more than just keeping HMRC happy. We can check your numbers, help you when you get stuck and give you meaningful reporting so that you understand what the numbers mean (and have a heads up on what tax you'll be paying and when).

  • Quite frankly, you hate bookkeeping, it's not your area of expertise and you would much rather focus on your business than the numbers - we get that. We can be your accountant in your pocket and take away the hassle by looking after your bookkeeping and keeping you up-to-date with reporting, as well as the compliance side too.
